* Silver Puma
Since its beginning, the FICUNAM Silver Puma statuette was conceived as an aesthetic challenge: the recreation of a cherished icon —the University Puma— into a 3-D object capable of representing such a young project as the UNAM International Film Festival. To conquest this challenge, young Mexican artist Martín Soto Climent was invited because of his successful international career and the fact he is an alumnus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
This design shows the strong commitment he feels to his alma mater: a silver puma on a volcanic rock base to materialize the pride felt by a former student giving back to UNAM a little of that which this institution gave to him.
