Hans Hurch | Austria, 1952
President of the Jury

In 1972, he began studying History of Art, Philosophy and Archaeology at the University of Vienna. He has programmed film programs, retrospectives, as well as special programs for several institutions including the Viennale and the Wiener Festwochen. From 1986 until 2000 he collaborated and was direction assistant in the theatre and film works from Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, Der Tod des Empedokles (1987), Schwarze Sünde (1989), and Antigone (1992). Since 1997, he is the director of the Viennale, the Vienna International Film Festival.
Adrian Martin | Australia, 1959

Adrian Martin is an Associate Professor of Film Studies at Monash University, Australia. He is the author of six books, the most recent being A Secret Cinema (Melbourne: re:press 2012), and he is the coeditor of the film/arts journal LoLa (www.lolajournal.com). He has written hundreds of film essays and reviews since 1979 for magazines including Cahiers du Cinéma España, La Tempestad, Trafic, Sight and Sound, De Filmkrant, Transit, Rouge and Film Quarterly.
Denis Côté | Canadá, 1973

Born in New-Brunswick, Canada, Denis Côté produced and directed around 15 low-budget short films while working as a radio host and film critic for a weekly Montreal-based cultural newspaper. He was also vice-president of the Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma (Quebec's Film Critics Association) AQCC (2001-2006). His first feature film Les États nordiques (2005) was awarded the Golden Leopard in Locarno International Film Festival. Since, Denis Côté’s work has been featured in numerous film festivals and in various retrospectives around the world.
Rigoberto Perezcano | México, 1965

Director and scriptwriter Perezcano was first known for his documentary XV en Zaachila, which was selected in various festivals and received many national and international awards. He wrote the screenplay Carmín Tropical with the aid of a grant by the Rockefeller-MacArthur Ford Foundations. He is the President of the non-profit organization OaxacaCineAC. Together with the Government of the State of Oaxaca and Cineteca Nacional, this organization is planning the opening of the first State Cinémathèque in Oaxaca. He wrote and directed Norteado, his first fiction feature film, awarded for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Director, among other awards, at several international film festivals.
Paula Astorga Riestra | México, 1972

In 1997, she graduated from the specialty in Film Direction and Production of the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. The same year, she received an Honorable Mention in the National Script Contest organized by IMCINE with her screenplay for animation, La tarde de Rosario. In 2004, she founded the Mexico City International Film Festival (FICCO), which she directed since its creation until September, 2008. She has participated as a jury member in festivals such as the Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente (BAFICI) and the Miami International Film Festival (MIFF). She has been part of the selection committees for Ibermedia TV and many of the various contests and calls open by IMCINE in support of Mexican cinema (Short Film and Creator Aids). Currently, she is in charge of the General Direction of the Cineteca Nacional (National Cinémathèque). She is also a professor of Direction and Preproduction for grad-level students at CENTRO. She was recently appointed as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Government.

Tatiana Huezo | El Salvador, 1972
President of the Jury

Tatiana Huezo is a graduated student from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). She has worked as a director and cinematographer in several films, both in the fields of fiction and documentary. Her documentary project Retrato de familia earned her a grant by FONCA and a scholarship for studying abroad. She received a MAF in Creative Documentary (Documental de Creación) from the Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona. She organized and taught the Documentary Course given at the Escuela de Cine de la Comunidad de Madrid. In 2010, she shot her debut feature, El lugar más pequeño, which has been screened in over 40 festivals around the world receiving 20 awards. Currently, she is a professor and coordinator of the Documentary Course at the CCC.
Paolo Moretti | Italia, 1975

Since 2001, Paolo Moretti worked for several film festivals and film institutions in Europe, including the Pompidou Center (in both the audiovisual production and the film programming units), the États Généraux du Film Documentaire (Lussas, France), Filmoteca Española in Madrid, Leeds International Film Festival (United Kingdom), Cinemateca Portuguesa in Lisbon, One World in Prague and Cinéma du Réel in Paris. From 2008 to 2011, he worked for the Venice Film Festival as a program advisor and coordinator, focusing in particular on short and medium-lenght films of the Orizzonti section.
Yulene Olaizola | México, 1983

She studied cinema at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) where she graduated with the Summa Cum Laude distinction for her thesis documentary project Intimidades de Shakespeare y Victor Hugo. The film was screened in several film festivals, obtaining over 30 awards. In 2010, she directed and produced her first fiction feature, Paraísos Artificiales, premiered in Rotterdam (IFFR) and awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival and SANFIC (Santiago International Film Festival). She participated in the Residency Program of the Fogo Island Arts Corporation, in Newfoundland, Canada (2011), where she made a fiction film with an experimental approach currently in its postproduction process.
