Attenberg by Atina Rachel Tsangari | International Feature Film Competition | FICUNAM 2011
Attenberg won the Silver Puma for Best Director and the Audience Choice Award at the first edition of FICUNAM. It also won the Grand Prix at the 11. New Horizons International Film Festival on July 2011, Best Movie at RO-IFF 2011, and Special Jury Prize at the American Film Institute Awards 2011. The film was selected, among ten other european films for the Official Selection of the LUX Prize 2011 and is also part of the European Film Awards selection 2011. Among the recent festivals in which Attenberg has participated are: Sydney Film Festival 2011; Paris Cinéma 2011; La Rochelle Film Festival 2011; Toronto International Film Festival 2011; International Film Festival Rotterdam 2011; San Francisco International Film Festival 2011; BAFICI 2011 and FICValdivia 2011. Attenberg received Special Mention at the Whistler Film Festival, Special Jury Prize at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Volpi Cup(Best actress) Ariane Labed, in Venice Film Festival 2011. The film was released in Mexico on September 2011, through Mantarraya Producciones.

In 2011 the film won Special Mention at the first edition of FICUNAM, the Special Jury Prize at the 10 International Transilvania Film Festival; Special Mention of the International Jury at the Festival de Cine de Lima and Special Mention at the 18º Festival de Cine Independiente de Barcelona, l'Alternativa 2011. The film by Federico Veiroj won in 2010 the Coral Prize for Best Feature Film at the 32 edition of the Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano in La Habana. He also won the Films in Progress Prize at Festival de San Sebastián / New Director Special Mention San Sebastián 2009. In 2011 Useful life participated at the Göteborg International Film Festival;Miami International Film Festival; Hong Kong International Film Festival; San Francisco International Film Festival; and recently at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), and the Ibero-American Film Festival in Rome. The film was released in July in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The film competed for the Gold Alhambra at the V Festival de Granada Cines del Sur 2011. This year, it was also exhibited at the Transylvania International Film Festival; International Film Festival Rotterdam; 23 Rencontres Cinémas d'Amérique Latine de Toulouse; at the Seattle International Film Festival; Festival de Cine de Lima; New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland; SANFIC (Festival Internacional de Cine de Santiago de Chile); Hamburg FilmFest 2011; October 2011, in Morelia Film Fest and, November 2011, in Flandes Latino Film Festival and Cali International Film Festival 2011. On June 2011, the film was exhibited at the Culver Center of the arts in Riverside, California. Recently cinematographer, Lisa Tillinger, won the prize for Best Cinematography at the Tribeca Film Festival and Yulene Olaizola won the prize for Best Director at the Santiago International Film Festival (SANFIC7).

The film was exhibited at the Carrillo Gil Art Museum, the Cineteca Nuevo León and the Guanajuato International Film Festival 2011. It was also part of the third National Film Show at Fresnillo (MUNACIFRE). The first feature film by Daniela Schneider had its world premier at FICUNAM 2011.

Released in Mexico on July 1st and presented at the Cineteca Nuevo León in August. In 2011 the film participated at the 15 Los Ángeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF); Miami International Film Festival; International Independent Film Festival in Cosquin, Córdoba, Argentina;the 18th International Film Festival Prague; Festival du Cinéma Latino-Americain de Montréal; 14th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival; Hola Mexico Film Festival; and recently Festival Paris Cinéma; Guanajuato International Film Festival; Festival do Rio 2011 and at 'Experimenta América Latina: México', within the Experimental Cinema Week in Madrid, Spain, 2011.. At the Festival de Cinema de Gramado, the film received the prize for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Gabino Rodríguez) and at the Puebla International Film Festival (FICP 2011) it won Best First Debut Film. Among other awards the film has received is the Horizons Award, Special Mention at the International Film Festival San Sebastian 2010.

The film had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2010. That same year the film participated at the BAFICI in Buenos Aires and FIC Valdivia. In 2011 Nicolas Pereda´s film was presented at the FICG (Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara); the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias; Cine Las Américas International Film Festival in Texas, and the Filmest München. The following year the film was selected into various festivals such as: Berlin International Film Festival; Seattle International Film Festival; Los Angeles Film Festival; Festival Paris Cinéma 2010; La Rochelle International Film Festival; Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano; Thessaloniki International Film Festival, among others. This year the film participated at the Planete Doc Review in Poland, the San Sebastián International Film Festival in the 4+1: Contemporary Mexican Cinema Section and at the Ibero-American Film Festival in Rome, 2011. Alamar has received more than 15 awards in festivals around the world such as Best Mexican Feature Film and Public´s Awardat Morelia Film Festival; the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2010; Grand Jury Prize Ibero-American Competition at Miami International Film Festival 2010; Best Latinamerican Film and Jury Prize at Montreal World Film Festival 2010; FIPRESCI Prize at the Rencontres Cinémas D´Amerique Latine de Toulouse 2010; and Best International Filmat BAFICI 2010, among others. The film was part of the Official Selection at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Monterrey. On August it was exhibited at the Kino Arsenal Cinema in Berlín and the City Museum of Queretaro, Mexico. Travel to Tulum was released in Mexico on June 2011 at the Cineteca Nacional.
